UPPER EAST SIDE, MANHATTAN NY
This project was taking on the challenge of transforming an apartment that lacked much natural light and views into a vivacious home for a family. Bold design choices, vintage finds and customization made this apartment a bright and happy place.
Pink walls created the illusion of a bright space, overcoming the lack of natural light here. The raspberry sofa and turquoise louis armchair , asymmetrical vintage end tables , a midcentury coffee table and pop art transformed this pre-war parlour into an eclectic and cheerful living room for the family.
The wood burning fireplace with reupholstered vintage ming ottomans serves as a cozy spot in those long winter months. The louiss phillipe mirror reflecting the custom midcentury light and thoughtfully selected accents make this a striking vignette.
The bar is created by repurposing and refinishing a vintage secretary desk found at an auction. The ghost chair in black complements it and creates an interesting chemistry.
Continuing the play of styles , this eye catching vignette mixes a french console,a chinese vase and modern art and accents.
The dining area boasts of an elephant tusk inspired dining table sorrounded by cheerful ikat upholstered dining chairs and a statement light fixture.
A play of form and textures - the grass cloth wallpaper serves as a backdrop to the ikat velvet dining chairs and white wood dining table and a sputnik gold light fixture.
This custom settee in a fun geometric fabric is a perfect spot by the window.
